The TNT Report (Oct. 8, 2021)
TNT Stands for “Tips, News and Tools” ~ Curated Content and Resources to Help Solopreneurs and Small Business Owners Grow Your Business
Welcome to this week's TNT Report, a weekly compilation of curated tips, news and tools for small business owners, entrepreneurs and marketers to grow your business and online presence.
Welcome to this week’s edition of my “TNT Report” e-newsletter.
Did you know that October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month? Cybersecurity involves preventing, detecting and responding to cyberattacks that can have wide-ranging effects on individuals, organizations and the community.
On an individual level, cyberattacks can involve gaining access to your computer, mobile phone or gaming system. They can result in identity theft, loss of money and loss of access to your accounts. These attacks target both children and adults.
Protecting yourself can seem daunting, but the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) provides a week-by-week plan to strengthen your cybersecurity know-how. FEMA also has dozens of tips to help keep you safe online.
As we prepare for cooler weather, raking leaves, enjoying football games and Halloween later this month, let’s be sure to take a few minutes to review our cybersecurity. For more ways to stay cyber safe, visit ready.gov/cybersecurity.
And for those of you who have the Columbus Day holiday on Monday — enjoy the long weekend! Have fun.

NEWS
Big Tech's Fall from Grace
The Public Affairs Pulse survey has tracked levels of trust across nine industries for nearly a decade. From 2012-2017, technology ranked at the top of the list for trustworthiness. But then it slipped to fourth place in 2018 and to fifth place in 2019 and 2020. Finally, in 2021, tech has fallen into sixth place, with 32% of Americans now saying it is less trustworthy than other industries and only 16% saying it is more trustworthy. The survey also shows that despite supplying lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines for hundreds of millions of people — and doing the job in record time — the pharmaceutical industry is still the least-trusted sector in American business. Forty-six percent (46%) of the public say pharmaceutical companies are less trustworthy than other major companies, and only 13% believe they are more trustworthy.
